Nottingham Geographical Description

Located in the county of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England, Nottingham is both a city and a unitary authority region. It's distances from London and other major cities include 110 miles (180 km), 33 miles (53 km) to the south-east from Sheffield, and 45 miles (72 km) to the north-east from Birmingham. There are ties to the lace-making, bicycle, and tobacco industries, as well as the tale of Robin Hood, in Nottingham. The city was granted its city charter in 1897 as part of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and it is also the county town of Nottinghamshire.
