Airdrie North Ward is one of the 21 wards used to elect members of North Lanarkshire Council. It elects four councillors and covers northern and eastern parts of Airdrie (Clarkston, Drumgelloch, Holehills and Thrashbush neighbourhoods) plus the outlying villages of Caldercruix, Wattston, Plains and Glenmavis.
Airdrie North Ward is located in the North Lanarkshire council area of Scotland. It is bordered by the wards of Airdrie South, Coatbridge North, Coatbridge South, and Shotts and Newmains.
The ward is mostly urban, with the exception of the villages of Caldercruix, Wattston, Plains, and Glenmavis. The ward is bisected by the River North Calder, which flows from east to west.
The ward has a number of hills, including Drumpellier Hill, which is the highest point in the ward at 355 meters (1,165 feet).
The ward is served by the M8 motorway, which runs through the southern part of the ward. The nearest airport is Glasgow Airport, which is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) away.
