Ballymoney is a town and civil parish in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This area is part of the jurisdiction of the Borough Council of the Causeway Coast and Glens. Ballymoney is located in the North East Liberties of Coleraine Barony in County Londonderry and the old baronies of Dunluce Upper and Kilconway in County Antrim. Ballymoney has excellent transportation links to Belfast and Derry, the two largest cities in Northern Ireland. It is situated on the main road between Coleraine and Ballymena

The Ballymoney region boasts the highest life expectancy in all of Northern Ireland, with male life expectancy averaging 79.9 years and female life expectancy averaging 83.8 years between 2010 and 2012. The citizens of Ballymoney, on the other hand, were found to have a higher mortality rate due to cardiovascular illness than anyone else in Northern Ireland in 2013. It was established in 1933, the Ballymoney Drama Festival is the longest running arts event in the area. In addition, the town is home to the Ballymoney Show, which has been going strong since its inception in 1902 and is one of the oldest agricultural exhibitions in all of Northern Ireland.

The Ballymoney neighborhood is administered by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Three members of the Democratic Unionist Party, two from the Ulster Unionist Party, one from the Traditional Unionist Voice, and one from Sinn Féin were elected to the council in 2014. The area is part of the North Antrim constituency, which sent Democratic Unionist Ian Paisly Jr. to Westminster in 2019 and sent one Ulster Unionist, one Democrat, one TUV, one Sinn Féin, and one Alliance member to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2022.
