England's Priest Hutton is both a hamlet and a civil parish in the county of Lancashire. You may find it in the City of Lancaster, about 3 miles (5 km) north-east of Carnforth and very close to the border with Cumbria. Originally counted at 177 in the 2001 census, 185 people called Priest Hutton home as of the most recent count in 2011.
The town is in a rural region off the A6070 and has few local amenities. The closest school and post office are located north of the county boundary at Burton-in-Kendal, which also serves as the village's former school before it closed in 1978. Borwick, a small settlement to the south of Priest Hutton, shares several of the town's amenities with Priest Hutton, including the Borwick and Priest Hutton Memorial Hall and St. Mary's Church. Instead of a parish council, Priest Hutton holds parish meetings in the Memorial Hall.
The Lancaster Canal's northernmost navigable stretch is located at the Tewitfield marina in the parish's southwestern part.
Matthew Hutton, a previous archbishop of York, was born in that town in 1529.
