Located in Lancashire, England, not far from Blackburn on the A59 highway, Clayton-le-Dale is both a settlement and a civil parish. There were 1,228 people living in the civil parish as of the 2011 census. In terms of administrative division, the village is part of the Ribble Valley.
Agriculture is the main industry of the parish. Businesses in the area have diversified since the 2001 foot-and-mouth outbreak. For instance, Dowsons, a dairy farm, now supplies ice cream to Asda and Booths supermarkets, and makes ice cream in unique flavors like black pudding.
Clayton-le-Dale has diversified in a number of ways, including the introduction of a tourist industry and the construction of industrial units in the town.
